Why
did I miss that?
I am not ever going to miss future
ICS picnic. I heard about all
the fun that I missed. All
that great food the community prepared, B-B-Q that was arranged and served
by Mr. & Mrs. Keshav Singh. How could I have missed that? I also heard that they played
“Antakshari” where men teamed up against
women. No one knows who won.
I am sure it would have been a great pleasure to meet and chat with 125 or
more people, playing volley ball and my favorite game “tag”. Guess what! I will be there next
year.
Much
more than “hole in
one”
On September
7, 2003, on a beautiful Sunday morning, 31 golfers including two talented women
golfers decided to put their skills to test. The event was
sponsored by ICS and guess what!! Eight of them were successful in
taking home the trophies that ICS had sponsored. Our President was riding the golf
cart all over the golf course to see “a hole in one” but was so happy that
our golfers had much more to offer than that - “they all were having great
fun”. Some of golfers
did say “Can we have this kind of golf outing every year?” The answer was “sure, that is what
ICS wants to hear”.

Exhibits
of
India
There
are currently two wonderful exhibits related to
India at the
MSU-Museum. The hands-on children's activity room has been very
popular over the past five months. It is set up for them to learn about
the Indian culture while having some fun. Our children might like
to bring some of their friends to this exhibit and share
their stories with them.
There
is also a special exhibition in collaboration with the Smithsonian
entitled 'Birds of South Asia'. The territories
of India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Tibet, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and
Afghanistan have as many as 1,450 species of birds. This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole
family to spend a fall afternoon at the museum. The MSU-Museum is
free, fun and educational for the entire family. The
museum is open year-around, except for a few holidays. It is open on
weekdays from 9-5, Saturday 10-5 and on Sundays from
1-5.
